We stayed here for 3 nights over the New Years weekend. We tried to check in early (our train got in around 1:30 and check in was at 3). They held our luggage and told us they would text when our room was ready.
We splurged for a king suite to get some extra space and a view. We were in room 2901.
The views were spectacular! Our bedroom was a stunner with floor to ceiling windows across an entire wall and corner. Our balcony had an awesome view of the Empire State Building and even could see a peek of Times Square through the skyline.
I LOVED this hotel. As a solo female traveler, I knew that safety was a priority when choosing my accommodation this trip. Price wasn't something I was too worried about just cause I wanted safety to be a priority, so its not a cheaper accommodation if that's what you're looking for. Upon arrival I was greeted by the wonderful front desk attendants around 2pm. The elevator took less than 30 secs each time I used it and my room was AMAZING with views of the empire state and the buildings surrounding the hotel. The restaurant across the street, Asian fusion was great, and there's a McDonald's right across if you want something quick and easy. I never ate the breakfast, mostly cause I wanted to enjoy more "authentic" new York cuisine and don't really like hotel breakfast, but there was a microwave, fridge, and a kettle if I wanted to bring back leftovers. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants central positioning or if you're like me, wanted to explore Chelsea and Greenwich Village on this trip. Cant end this review without talking about the rooftop views which were well worth the elevator time up to the top!
*** The view from the rooftop is amazing. It was so cool to have a peaceful place to go and enjoy golden hour and at night time where you can see the Empire State Chrysler building freedom tower and more. See photos attached.
Stayed here on a business trip. The hotel itself is situated in a convenient location in the heart of Manhattan so it’s convenient both for business travelers and tourists to get all around. It’s also walkable to a plethora of attractions and dining.
The staff is excellent. Everyone I dealt with was kind and professional.
The room is modern and has what you need. Lightning is abysmal.
Rooms were nicely turned over daily. Requests promptly taken care of.
One major gripe I have with this location is that the breakfast is ABYSMAL. INEDIBLE.
People who don’t think they simply have low standards and I feel sorry for them. I tried to eat the first 2 days and then I basically didn’t eat breakfast because it was so bad. Some of the worst eggs, French toast I’ve ever had at any hotel.
Great location in Midtown. I wouldn’t call it a Hyatt House, as not all rooms have kitchens. Mine didn’t.
Breakfast was the same you get at every Hyatt Place/House. Just seemed a lower quality. Staff was friendly.
Room was small, but had a view of the Empire State Building. Housekeeping was good. My shower drained really slow. I let the front desk know the first morning of a 4 night stay but it was never fixed.
Booked a block of rooms for our wedding and the woman in sales who helped us was incredibly helpful and accommodating on every level. The room we had was great with incredible views and a comfy bed. Only complaint would be there's no full length mirror which, for a bride, was a bit inconvenient. The breakfast they offer was not good, but our room had a kitchenette so, we just made sure to have our own food. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.
I’ve stayed at this Hotel 7 times in the last two years. My last visit of 5 nights housekeeping came to my room 0 times. I would leave from 10am til late, notify the front desk, and still have no service. I would repeat, let the front desk know it hasn’t been done in days and get a “yeah we’re really busy” as a response. Asked for fresh towels and they said they’d try, ended up having to get my own from the housekeeping closet. This was my go-to spot but after the lackluster attention and blowing me off when asking for basic service I will be trying other hotels. They also act like you’re trying to con them when you ask for your water bottle as a Hyatt Explorist.
Ideal place if you want to be in a strategic area, close to everything. The hotel offers water and a basic breakfast (bacon only on Sundays 😭). I had a room with the kitchenette which is perfect to save up and avoid eating outside every day. Unfortunately, on weekends can get very annoying if you have stupid people next to your room. Had to call reception during the night to report disturbance which wasn't effective.
Very clean and beautiful. Rooms are small, but that is to be expected. The rooftop has a beautiful view and if you stay here you should go up there. Fairly close to Penn Station, which is a plus. Overall, it was a lovely hotel.
